We will be moving to Connecticut in the next year, my husband is being moved to Bristol. We are more concerned with the school district than the housing right now as my 11 year old son has Aspergers Syndrome/ADHD and has progressed so far in our school district in NJ we would like to give him a similar experience.

are you looking for public or private? Here are some private's in CT that specialize in special needs.
Eagle Hill - Southport
The Forman School

Though they aren't REAL close to Bristol. Thought i'd throw those out their.

There are many towns near Bristol that have excellent schools. Not knowing your price range and likes and dislikes, I would off-hand recommend Farmington, Avon, Simsbury and West Hartford. These towns have some of the best schools in the state and I am sure they will be able to meet your needs. Check realtor.com for listings in your price range and lthen let us know if you have any other questions. Jay

cindyich - Check out the State Department of Education's web site for information on school districts. The links below should help. As I said the schools in the towns I recommended are among the best in the state. These towns are also more expensive than others. Depending on the part of New Jersey you currently live in though, they may be comparable or less-expensive than homes where you live now. Good luck, Jay

The Simsbury public schools have a great special education program for students on the Autism Spectrum. I am a college senior majoring in education and I sub over my breaks. I have spent a lot of time in Simsbury's "Ready Set Go" program which is for children with Austism. I would recommend calling the school and asking to speak with the special education teachers to see if the program is what you are looking for.
