It depends on what you're accustomed to and what you grew up with and like. Some CT pizza is *very* good, but I would take a slice first from my old corner pizzeria in Brooklyn any day of the week

It's actually funny that this thread came up tonight... our local pizzeria in New Fairfield is owned by a family from Throggs Neck, Bronx. And they swear by the fact that NYC water makes the difference in the crust (between NY and CT Crusts) To the point where they actually have a team of employees whose sole purpose is to make daily runs to their building in the Bronx just to fill up 5 gallon jugs of water so they can make their dough up here in CT). Anyway, their new "special" pizza this month, is a "thin" crust "hot oil" one. Ala Colony, maybe???!! Lol. That is definitely NOT a NY specialty, and in this instance CT wins hands down. But kudos to the local guys for trying to meld both worlds

Yes.

I've yet to have NYC pizza on the same level. Believe me, I've tried.

New Haven has similar water to NYC. Also might be why the Pepe's chains are never quite as good.

Nope. Lol . seriously, it comes down to what you're accostrmed to. Not that one is better than the other. And you have to stay away from "tourist traps" in both states. It's the neighborhood, corner pizzerias, that no one knows about, because 8 million people just possibly "can't," Those are usually the best...
