Well, it's cooled off here. Yesterday was beautiful but today it's almost cold and it's raining hard. Feels a little bit like September. I have the window open and cool air is blowing in. Farmington Valley.

I have some traveling relatives who stayed overnight and are heading for Maine. They will be passing through MA and CT on their way back to VA by Sunday and are very excited about the meteor showers. Any idea where the sky might be clear enough to actually SEE the showers? They will plan their itinerary based upon any chance of getting clear skies.

Was in greenwich working but now I see 0
82" fell in my backyard between 8-11am. Have to check radar to see exactly when the heaviest was. Wet and hot pattern continue.

Over 1.25" today. Nuts. Look at that large red batch. Flooding happening under there. Producing 1" easily within an hour.

Dew point still 70 so it almost might as well be 80 or above.

Do they keep dew point records? Because I wonder if we're approaching a record this summer for most days with dew points of 70 and above.

BDL high so far today is only 72 and it occurred at 1:25am. (Ironically, NYC has yet another 80 degree high because it was 80 there at that time and is their high for the day.... But they had a sub-80 degree day in late July so no big streak at the moment).

Precip total this summer so far... Looks like an average of 10-13" across the state

Zoomed in a little into New Haven county. West Haven with only 6.32" this summer. Go up the line a little to Madison Center and they have 10.45". Killingworth with 15.12".

I'd ignore those under 5" reports. Would have to check to see if they reported each day first. Looks too low.

Are you using "meteorological summer" dates? Because officially we have more than 20 days of summer left.
