Yeah, noticeably less cool than earlier over here. Though I still think it's an improvement than a week ago...

Sky colors look a bit muted. Possibly wildfire smoke?

Not sure but I am sure the pattern has changed. Not 1 drop in the forecast. I fear whats ahead.

Heat wave possible Mon-Tues-Wed. Then not liking what Im seeing with the ridge in Eastern U.S.

Looks like it cools down again after Thursday. But as Cambium said, does it get very warm again? AccuWeather seems to think so....

Yeah, if the dips don't dig south enough we will stay hot. These dips might just stay in Canada. (nice for them)

It looks like the Jet Stream wants to stay north in Eastern U.S. Meaning a ridge in Eastern U.S. meaning Summer like & above normal weather. When the dips squashes down the ridge its just a zonal pattern for us which still means very warm.

Every September we get our share of hot and humid weather and every single year people are surprised.

Plus retail and advertisers don't help. The Lowe's that my brother works at already has Halloween stuff up in Lawn & Garden. Bad enough they think summer "ends" on Labor Day.

Great AFD out of NWS Boston.

.LONG TERM /MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY/...

*/ Highlights... - Heat and humidity Tuesday and Wednesday ... headlines likely -
Sweeping cold front Wednesday night into Thursday -
Relief possible Friday / Saturday - Potential for heat and humidity to return early next week */

Overview... End of August heat and humidity. Pattern amplification aided by up- stream tropical activity, subsequent SW-NE heat pump via SW CONUS out ahead of preferred, deep H5 W CONUS trof. Atlantic ridge builds. Surface temperatures back up into the 90s along with dewpoints in the 70s. Oppressive environment. Pattern breaks as upstream energy digs N?E, a trailing, sweeping cold front late week with potential relief into the weekend. However uncertain, pattern possibly reloads the following week with return of heat and humidity. Confidence and forecast thinking within the discussion below.
