Hello,

We’re currently decamped in NJ, moving back onto the New Haven Line this coming year. (We commute to midtown NYC.) We really like Bridgeport, and it looks like some good things are happening in the downtown area. I see three “high rises” that have been converted to nice condo/apartments right in the museum/library/Main Street area. I’m going to look at two of them in the next week or so.

We know and like the downtown area during the day, but have never been around at night. Anyone have opinions on walking the block from the train station up to Main at night? Any restaurants sprouting up yet?

Thanks!

I have a friend that has lived near the Bijou for several years now. He works in Manhattan and walks from the station home every day. He and his wife love it there. There are several great restaurants including Ralph and Rich’s and Joseph’s Steakhouse. I was surprised he and his wife like it so much since they are well educated affluent born and raised suburbanites. That said downtown is improving but it still has a ways to go. Jay

Cheaper than Stamford/Norwalk and even Downtown New Haven
