Going into the city on a weekday morning around 11 or so. Heading to Grand Central station.

Looking for a station that will have open spaces around that time, also hoping for one with a clean bathroom. I'm bringing a child with me and last time we tried the bathrooms on the train they were so dirty I would have rather gone in a bucket. Ick!!

I was hoping to use Scarsdale to avoid driving on 95 (coming from Hartford county). But it looks as though parking is very limited there.

Any suggestions?

My initial thought was West Haven but I am not sure how crowded parking gets there by 11:00 AM. Another option would be Fairfield Metro Center which has a very large parking lot. Maybe someone here can confirm if there is parking at 11:00 at either of these locations. Jay

Thanks Jay! I have used Fairfield before, so you're right I bet they would have spots available that time of day.
You think White plains in NY would have parking?

Milford has plenty of weekend parking in their Metro North lot and it's free, too. It's a smaller lot than Fairfield but I've always been able to secure a parking spot. There's a small little convenience stand that abuts the station that sells coffee, newspapers and the like, and I believe there's a restroom there. But if not, you can always use one of the businesses nearby. Milford Station is sandwiched right on all sides by storefronts and restaurants in their downtown area, so worst case scenario you could always rely on one of these.

I have been in Trumbull for 20+ years. I always use the "Mill Plain" train station in Fairfield (exit 21). There is a day parking lot right on Mill Plain Road. In the 20+ years I have used this day parking lot there has always been plenty of spaces and it is very safe. It is a quick walk down Ludlowe Road and Ludlowe Court. Ludlowe court goes right into the train station parking lot.

There’s a $6 parking lot you can use on High Street

Where are you coming from?

Yeah Milford is a good choice. You can go down 15 all the way and get off the connector. Easy. As mentioned lots of stuff nearby for food and restroom within walking distance and it’s a very safe area.

Second choice would be Fairfield Metro. Don’t think they have a bathroom but you could stop at a gas station or something nearby. It’s also $6.

You would need to use the pay lot ($6/day), and if you want a quick bite before Park Lane Deli right across the green literally from the New Haven bound side, has a decent breakfast. The Corner Restaurant has less traditional, creative breakfast dishes. Both have restrooms.

Corner is directly across street from City Hall.
