Well the Courant is reporting another fatal shooting last night. Main Street and Buhrl Avenue. Also in the North End. 10:45 PM at night.

I believe summer brings more shootings, BTW. People are out walking more, kids off from school, maybe the hot weather makes people more heated.....

Deadliest month in Hartford since May 2015. (paywall, but you can read a certain number of articles for free a month)

Shootings continue, and more frequently. I think the only solution is stop and frisk. If it's done the same way as airport screening was done, when people at random were taken aside for more detailed screening, it wouldn't be racist. If it's done in the high crime areas, with some low-risk targets, like little old ladies, stopped and frisked too, at random, it would get those carrying weapons and drugs off the streets, because word would get out quickly that walking around carrying drugs and weapons would get you arrested, prosecuted, and imprisoned. Of course, we'd have to prosecute the juveniles who are caught, so that they'd realize it wasn't just "catch and release". This is what fixed NYC. It could fix Hartford, too.
