Season Snowfall Departure from normal. I circled all the locations that are above normal so far. Then I estimated a line. Wasn't sure how to draw in NH since there aren't many Climo sites there reporting snow.

Concord and Syracuse are below normal.
Hartford is 12.9" above normal

1.63 inches for Hartford's Brainard Airport (HFD), if I added the numbers correctly. Footing was mostly OK in Berlin into Middletown last night. The trouble spots were a tiny bit of slushy ice trying to form on a sidewalk or two...IF they weren't insulated. The side of the road was VERY wet, but fine. Seems to have hovered around 34 by the Middletown/Cromwell line all night long.

Today's sunset is 4:30. So there's that.

Why the despair? The past 3 yrs (it seems like) we've had some of our heaviest snow events in March!

Loop last 4hrs..

4 Things to Note:

1. Snow squall warnings for my sister and all around Northern PA/Western NY

2. Deep snowpack in Southwest Maine 6-12" on the ground

3. 50s in Baltimore/DC area

4. Clouds and 30s/low 40s for CT then a strip of dry air came through sun popped out for an hour here.

Latest Models continue the snowless pattern for us. Nothing crazy warm but there is an Arctic outbreak around the 9th

Hartford is that much ABOVE normal?! Wow!! I'm hoping for some back to back years of 10" the entire winter. Sounds like heaven.

Had to make a few trips to and from Glastonbury last night. LOTS of tire tracks off in the weeds. Saw a car parked off the road on Rt 2 that didn't look like it got there on purpose.

Happy 2020.

Yes I see the flurries outside.

New GFS says 4 rain events next 2 weeks. Puts us to mid January without a snow event.

After that its 6 weeks until March.
