I don’t think there’s anyone on this forum that can speak firsthand to even half of the school districts. Best on paper would be, in no particular order, New Fairfield, Monroe, Cheshire, Brookfield and Trumbull.

I agree but might add Rocky Hill to it. These aren’t the very top districts but are all pretty solid. I do wonder why they are all over the state though. Jay
None of them are bad. Many of them are very different from each other so you would have to prioritize what you want in a school system. This list includes districts with 100 kids/grade, 200 kids/grade, and 400-500+ kids/grade.
Bethel and Rocky Hill probably have the most ethnic diversity and Southington, Seymour, Bethel are probably most economically diverse. Some of these towns are sports powerhouses, some have highly regarded stem programs, some are known for the arts and/or for life sciences.
From a high school standpoint all of these districts are in the top 1/3 or so in the state, you could probably separate into tiers:
Most highly ranked -- Cheshire, Monroe/Masuk,
Trumbull, Newtown, Rocky Hill, Brookfield, New Fairfield
Comparable to each other but less high performing: Bethel, Wolcott, Southington, Seymour, Woodbury/Nonnewaug
From what I hear from parents of school age kids in Bethel and Rocky Hill, school enrollment has grown substantially in both towns in the past 5-10 years and the towns are trying to figure out how to manage that. I think it caught Bethel by surprise while Rocky Hill has known about it for awhile and built a new school to accommodate.
I have another thread on a house we were looking at that is in 2 towns... and I have a feeling that house is going to fall through.... so I am coming up with a list of back up houses and was wondering about the schools in the towns listed.
Out of Seymour, Wolcott, and Southington, which would you say have the best schools? My son is only 2 and is outgoing, social, he is smart, creative. He hasn't really talked yet, but understands what we say and we are working with Birth to Three to help get his language up to speed.

Probably Southington.
Where’s work?
