The Hartford Line had its 1,000,000 rider some time in November of last year and well before it was expected to given its initial ridership projections with better than expected ridership numbers from the start and year over year ridership increase of 25%. Next up is trying to procure the funding for double tracking north of Hartford, infill stations, and real-time train displays at stations. Hopefully this also means more lines being extended up north as Valley Flyer lines and a move towards electrification.

It's great to have rail options. More and more riders every day. Also spurs development around stations.

Pretty good. I’m glad CT is taking advantage of its rails. The amount of people in the mid Atlantic who refuse to take available mass transit is frustrating. They could learn a thing or two from the Northeast in that regard.

How early/late do the trains run?

Luckily Connecticut has these corridors and cities to reactivate. They're real assets to the future of the state

The bridge over the Connecticut River between Windsor Locks and Enfield is going to be fun. It's quite old and looks narrow as it is now.

I’m only familiar with the Hartford/New Haven part but it’s roughly 5 am to 11pm hour daily.

You can always signal and switch a single track bridge.

It would be useful to electrify it at Springfield so Amtrak doesn’t have the big delay in New Haven changing between diesel and electric. It also cuts time as stations are added on commuter rail since electric accelerates better. Plus the whole carbon emissions thing.

I would think the ridership would Have to climb substantially to justify investment in electrification.

Isn't NYC considered the mid-Atlantic (though they are the Northeast too so do you mean somewhere south of that)? That's probably the most transit used place in America!
