Sadly, this is very real. She passed away on Saturday at age 61. She had arrived in Hartford from WJW-TV (FOX) channel 8 of Cleveland. Apparently, Dennis House broke the news on air, fighting back tears making the announcement.

This is so sad. She was wonderful and will be missed. Here is a link to Dennis House making the announcement. You can see how shaken he is as I am sure everyone at Channel 3 is. My condolences to her family and friends. Jay

I was out all day and got home at 9pm and looked in my Facebook. I saw her picture and "farewell" and thought she had retired. So shocking and sad. She was one-of-a-kind and will never be replaced.

This is from early 1986. She was leaving her previous TV job at WJW-TV (FOX) channel 8 of Cleveland (then a CBS affiliate).

She was on WFSB, Channel 3, not Fox 61. I was trying to remember if she was on Fridays newscast. Don’t know for sure. Jay
