I picked houses east of Stratfield Road closer to Bridgeport and I only see 1 car left in the last year in that area. This is the house on the other side of Stratfield close to Bridgeport that I used.

Do they mean car theft, meaning someone stole the car? Probably not common but breaking into car and stealing stuff would be common. As someone else mentioned, lock your doors but stinks to have to worry about it.

This is exactly what it says......."THEFT - FROM VEHICLE (EXCEPT PARTS)".

To put this all in perspective I live in the northern part of Trumbull (very safe area) and they break into cars in my area. This is also happening in the wealthy towns in southwest Fairfield County too.

OP all of Fairfield is awesome. You can't go wrong with any neighborhood. Don't listen to anyone who says otherwise. Stratfield (and especially the adjacent Tunxis Hill/ McKinley) neighborhoods sometimes are looked down upon by people further west in the town but that's just Gold Coast snobbery.

The whole town has great schools and is safe. Don't be worried!

Feel free to ask me any questions if needed.

I agree too. My family lives on Tunxis Hill and have kids that go to McKinley School. They love it. The mother is a teacher and is very impressed with the quality of education their kids are getting. Another member lived in Stratfield and their kids went to Stratfield School. They also liked the education their kids received. You can’t go wrong with any of the schools in town. Of course you will get snobs who will look down on you. It’s pretty sad that people do that.

I love to respond to their comments when they say they live in Southport. I say “I’m from Fairfield too”. They usually aren’t amused. Jay

Had a particularly snobby friend that "downgraded" from Westport and lived in western Fairfield Beach area, and would tell everyone they lived "near Southport".

Oh no, what a terrible life! I imagine they had to skip their cruise trip last year as well, causing great hardship in their life. In lieu of flowers monetary donations may be made to support their grief.

Some here on the Forum are guilty as well.
I've seen "Southport" and "Rowayton" bandied about as if they're their own seperate towns.

Thank you! I appreciate the response. I concur. It's a great town.
