By now, Lamont should have publicly denounced this bill and stated an intent to veto it.

Changes need to be made, but this bill isn’t the way to do. No one should have a felony for doing drugs. No one should have a felony forever for getting into a bar fight at 21.

That doesn’t mean it should be a free for all and that’s what progressives want.

Well yes, kind of.

There shouldn’t be any blanket policy that just addresses those convicted of a crime to be let off the hook based on a period of time. If records are to be changed, then each individual case should stand on it’ s own. Included in any decisions should be the victims of the criminal act , and their input. Otherwise why meddle at all? Like I mentioned, this is the result of pressure from groups , that now appear to have a tremendous influence of Laws and Policies.

Otherwise , do the Legislators have enough compassion and understanding for the victims when they make these proposals? It appears to me that they think more about the criminal than the law abiding citizens that need Laws to protect them. How does this meddling help the victim?

The more I’m reading what the Democratic Party is doing to Connecticut, the more they are proving themselves to be lunatics, even before you put a drop of liquor in them.

True, they aren’t intoxicated when they are drafting these over the top Bills. Jay

I wonder if CT's weak on crime laws skew the crime statistics to make CT seem safer on paper than it really is.

A differing opinion on this. I don’t agree with this but thought I’d throw it out there. Jay

That depends on the injuries to the victim in the bar fight, and as for drugs, did the user commit other crimes due to the habit?
