I don’t think anyone is suggesting they’re scared to shop the Trumbull mall - just that it’s pretty indisputable that the mall has a higher violent crime rate than Danbury.

True. But as a resident wouldn't worry about it, or avoid the mall. Lot of the crime is amongst kids, or petty theft.

The stats show there is more crime in Danbury....you are safer in Trumbull.
Some questions about Trumbull (especially crime/safety)-mallcrime.jpg

Every time you say a mistruth about my town and the state of CT I will disprove it with DATA.

I’m surprised this even needs to be said, but your data is not for mall vs mall, it’s for city vs city. The discussion is regarding which mall has more violent criminal incidents, not which city. Again, this is pretty indisputable stuff.

Unfortunately, as noted above, quite a bit of the crime at the Trumbull mall goes far beyond petty. The same really can’t be said for Danbury.

I have no idea. I don’t know that area of the state too well.

Nah, the bulk is petty. For the average citizen (not beefing teens) the chances of geting attacked at the Trumbull Mall are slim to none akin to a lightning strike. I mean let's be real here.
It's more perception than anything else. Certain people don't want to be around others who don't look or dress like they do. Maybe only in very small doses. Remember, it is one of if not the most segregated state in the nation. Now granted if someone comes at me aggresively reciting rap or Sprinsteen lyrics I'm running for cover. I don't have martial art skills and was never in the Navy Seals like many others.
The ferociuos and tenacious defense of Trumbull's safety though was somwhat dramatic and uncalled for. I understood it to be a Mall comparison as well, so that's a good job.

The bulk is, of course, petty. That’s true for anywhere, even St. Louis and Detroit. The point being made is there is a statistical and factual element of crime that’s present at the Trumbull mall we don’t see at the Danbury mall. Full stop.

Also, for even the worst crimes, looking at probability analysis, none are as rare as a lightning strike. Impossible.
