Republicans picked up top offices in Ashford, Bethlehem, Bolton, Bristol, Bridgewater, Brookfield, Burlington, Colchester, Colebrook, East Granby, East Haddam, Griswold, Killingworth, North Stonington, Salem, and Windsor Locks.

These are a cross-section of the kinds of towns Connecticut has; urban, suburban, and rural. Republicans also held on to the mayor’s office in Danbury and New Britain, both thought to be very competitive races.

Fairfield, Westport, Greenwich, Wilton, New Canaan, Darien are red towns
Weston, Easton, Trumbull are blue towns

Ansonia, Derby, Shelton, Norwich are red towns

Meriden is split

New Britain is biggest surprise the city is turning around it no longer part of NH, BPORT, HRTD, WTBRY list.

Majority of New Britain council is now republican

Lamont is popular, even amongst some Republicans I know. It would take a lot to unseat him. Certainly a better candidate than the R’s have run in years.

I wouldn’t say Lamont is “popular”. The dude is tolerable, at best, compared to the train wreck that preceded him.

It’s important to remember he signed the Police Accountability Bill (which most disagreed with), the Crime Erasure Bill (which most disagreed with), and the suburban zoning bill.
