No, no, no, no. When can we stop talking about this? They played in a bowl game LAST YEAR. Yes bowl games don't mean too much but they do mean you're basically in the middle of FBS. They. Are. Not. Leaving. FBS. I know many fantasize about this, but you might as well pin your hopes on the Whalers coming back instead.

You actually think this is cause to dunk on them? We didn't know they were vastly inferior to an SEC team on the road before today?

They came in today 146th in USA in RPI. 17 spots better than my alma mater, Fordham. Latter fcs team, as are UConn's neighbors in the RPI.

and in recent years a pithy RPI has been frequent for UConn. (usually amongst fcs teams in rank)

The UConn focus should be basketball, with all else used to satisfy collegiate requirements.

That bowl game meant nothing.

They have not finished a season winning more games than losing since 2010. It’s pathetic

There’s nothing wrong with leaving UConn where they are. Every league has its cupcakes and they won’t be the only team getting their clocks cleaned by a powerhouse on any given Saturday.

agreed.

13 years being pithy at their present level, or far worse.

It boils down to scholarships. D1 gets 85. 1-AA gets 63, D2 gets 36 (mostly used for partials.)

Ivy's don't scholarship, at least officially.
