Heads up my Fairfield County friends. I-95 Northbound will be closed this weekend to replace the Northbound bridge over Saugatuck Avenue in Westport. The highway will be closed beginning Friday night at 8:00 PM and reopen Monday morning. Two lanes of traffic in each direction will be maintained on the southbound side of the highway but drivers are being urged to just avoid the area if possible. Good luck. Jay

No Pepe's Pizza this weekend.
The Exit 17 -19 area is the bane of existence for many in far SW CT.
I have officially permanently cancelled all travel into CT past western Farifield but recently have considered moving that up to eastern Norwalk possibly Westport center if the need arises. It's over folks.

Maybe the businesses along the Boston Post Road in Westport will see an uptick as traffic increases for obvious reason.

BPR and Merritt will be a disaster everywhere not just Westport. Stay home and local.
Hopefully NYers get the memo, many of them can't survive without having to drive into CT every weekend for whatever reason

Part of me wants to take a drive down there just to see how bad it will be.

They did a similar thing in Stamford when they rebuilt the East Main Street/Route 1 bridge over the highway. They routed traffic around the bridge by widening the ramps on each side to two lanes.

Even this will still have two lanes open. They are routing traffic to the other side of the highway. CTDOT is saying it’s closed because legally it is. They also want to discourage traffic from going that way. Jay
