Oil is currently cheaper than that.

If you're going through 200 gallons in a cold month assuming either you have large sq ft, high temp setting, and/or poorly insulated house.

It's always weird when they do these, they're using county, not city or even true metro data for CT.

Is it just the way the state does its data?

You can thank the good old US government for that designation. Bridgeport-Stamford-Norwalk is a census designated metropolitan statistical area (MSA). We are at the mercy of how the census groups such things.

Whatever guys, just go with it.
B-S-N metro, however you want to classify it, is still pretty damn expensive.
If you're middle class under 40ish, see ya, nice knowin' ya.
Like Howard Jones once said, you can look at the menu but you just can't eat, you can build the mansion but you just can't live in it.

It says this in the first slide/picture: "Here's a look at 16 metro areas where you can only buy a home if you're earning $200K annually."

The state of CT switched over to "Planning Regions" for the census data so now our state will be strange to look up data forward. They are being called MetroCOGS. It is a county equivalent.

Here are the two Fairfield County planning regions.

Greater Bridgeport Planning Region, Connecticut
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greate...nning%20Region.

Western Connecticut Planning Region, Connecticut
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wester...ng%20by%202024.

Here are the two regions in the census. The second link has the New Haven area (now the South Central CT Planning Region. You can now see that the Bridgeport area data looks almost the same as the New Haven area.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have been joking on there they kicked the Bridgeport area out of Fairfield County. CT did this so the Bridgeport area can get more federal funds since we are not connected to expensive wealthy western Fairfield County.

MSAs are a good way to accumulate data.

While many here are delighted home costs are soaring, it come at a cost-more homelessness, and more moving to lower COAs not just in Ct but nationally, to try to keep a roof above their head.

Yeah but it doesn’t seem like “cities” are done at county level in other places on these lists
