Thats quite a sweeping generalization of a whole city. Perhaps not the exact desperate housewives neighborhood in BPT, but if you do your homework you may be surprised at the neighborhoods you find. As another poster wrote though, if you are worried this much about it - you may be happier in one of the suburbs.

Yeah your right, I am going to scale the neighborhood on Sat, I should get a good idea of how things are. It will be hot this weekend and people will be hanging out.

Tell me what areas in Bridgeport you can find a neighborhood similar to that of "Desperate Housewives."

The suggestion that residents of Bridgeport are less friendly than residents of any other town in that area is ludicrous. What a joke. Of course it was suggested by someone that has never lived in Bridgeport.

And the OP didn't say the area had to LOOK like Desperate Housewives, she just wants a similar social scene.

Be prepared to see kids mowing the lawn for their parents and lots of barbeques. Most of the North End looks suburban.

which is why I said - "perhaps not the desperate housewives exactly" - the op didn't say it had to look like the desperate housewives neighborhood and for you to assume that everyone is unfriendly and unsocial in the city shows a rather obtuse understanding of inner city living.

If this was directed at me, you might want to reread my post. Nowhere did I say residents of Bridgeport are unfriendly. Please don't put words in my mouth. Thanks.

And how do you know I never lived in Bridgeport? I grew up in Fairfield next to the line.

I remember a recent thread where you were bashing Stratford in every way - now you're making Bridgeport sound like Wisteria Lane. How odd.
