I know...it's a little early to be asking. BUT I'm researching a place to get our xmas tree this year.

We want to make quite an event out of it. So I'm looking for a tree farm with a good selection and a refreshment area (hot chocolate or candy canes) for the kids. I went to a place in MA once with a log cabin with coloring books and meeting santa as well.

We'd like to find a place to go to, that will help to start being a tradition for our young kids. We've moved around so much we have always gone somewhere different. We're willing to drive for the right place, so give me your suggestions. Closer to Hartford and New Haven Counties would be better.

I don't have any suggestions myself since the one I went to growing up is no longer in operation but this site has farms listed for every county. Might be worth checking out to see what's near you:

My family and I have been going to Jones Family Farm in Shelton for the last 15 or so years and have always been able to find the perfect tree. I know they have a "Christmas Shop" but I have never actually gone in it to find out if they sell food or hot chocolate since we have always brought out own.

We've been going to Jones Tree Farm for about 25 years now, and we love it there, too. Funny enough we've never been to their Christmas Shop, either. We only live 5 minutes away, so we just raced home afterwards and had hot chocolate there. If you do go to JTF though, the earlier in the day you go, the better, if you plan on going on the weekend. People drive from miles around, including from NY, it's a big attraction and gets busy.

Welcome to Jones Family Farms
