Happy: That is exactly why I asked you where you were going to live...just in case you found something in Laurel Beach,(since it is so close to th school) the neighborhood where I grew up! How funny! It is such a beautiful old area with big old houses and lovely, quiet side streets. I grew up at the very top of 7th avenue, a tiny little street called Highwoood Road which ends up at the back of our old house in a cul-de-sac. Two of my sisters still live in the neighborhood and would never leave the area. There are so many children and since it is a private association the beach is also private and there is a club house (maybe you saw the large grey shingled structure) that is only open in the summer, has great activities for children and dances for the adults and bowling. There are six tennis courts only available to residents and there are tennis lessons as well as swimming lessons for the kids. It is a wonderful area for families with children and it is a very safe neighborhood with a gorgeous beach. I am sure you and your family will be very happy in Laurel Beach! BTW one of my sisters lives on 5th avenue and the other lives right across the street from the tennis courts and the casino (the clubhouse).

How funny! The place we found is on 6th Ave. So I guess we will be in your old stomping grounds. I think we will be happy there. My older child and my spouse are so excited to be close to the water again. Our younger child (7yrs) is struggling with the idea of moving at all, that breaks my heart. We were told that there are many children in the area, I hope that may ease their transition, especially for the 7 yr old. We will certainly focus on the positive!!! I am pleased to hear you have nice things to say about the neighborhood. Again, thank you.
