Plantsville is about 15 miles from Hamden, straight up Route 10. It would take about 30 minutes, mostly because there are so many signals along the road. You do not have to take Route 10 though. Take the Wilbur Cross Parkway (Route 15) north to I-691 in Meriden to I-84 East to Exit 30. This trip would be about 25 miles and take a little more than 30 minutes. If you do not like driving Route 10 (I understand your dislike), then take the alternate route. Jay
Jay hit it spot on. IMHO it would take you about 20 minutes to do the highway route and save you a lot of frustration. It's a pretty clear shot from Hamden up 15 to 691.
