Hi folks,

I'm looking to buy a compact home stereo system. It must be compact, cheap and have decent sound quality. Most of all it must have an mp3 player plug. This might sound silly, but some systems can only read up to 999 tracks. Since my mp3 player has nearly 2000 tracks this is also an issue.

Any model you can recommend?

Thanks in advance.

Compact. Cheap. Decent sound quality.

Pick any two, because you can't have all three, ever. Of (lower) price, performance, and features, only two can be had in a given item or service at one time.

You need to define your parameters. "Compact home stereo system" to me means a desktop system like this:

MCR-332 - Mini-Systems - Audio & Visual - Products - Yamaha United States

Its price falls into what I'd consider cheap and having decent sound quality, because IMHO, I don't want to listen to anything that's much less expensive than that.

YMMV.

If your MP3 player has controls and the ability to see what you're controlling, you can use any system that has an auxiliary input. Do you need the system to be able to control your MP3 player for some reason?
