Help me find a camera, please. (cameras)

I need a small pocket type camera which shoots the picture when you push the button, NOT 4-5 seconds after you push the button.
I don't know what this is called, but today we went dolphin watching and couldn't take a single good picture because the subject came and went by the time the camera shot the picture.
We have a little Kodak digital camera now and this problem is very annoying.

Keep in mind most of these cameras perform a lot of tasks such as adjusting the focus, adjust for lighting before taking the picture. You can do that beforehand by lightly depressing the button which will increase the speed of the shot.
