HI. Besides the tv I will need a modem compatible with cox 25mg service. They do have a list of compatible models. I am wondering what the difference is. I know some people like the lynx-sis or the belkin, etc.
My modems are old and I think they would interfere with the transmission.
Basically, do you get what you pay for?
What price range should I focus on?
I purchased a combo router modem on ebay - a Hon Hai. It needed to be repaired once. Was told a capacitor blew (if that makes sense).
Should I just take the cox list (website down right now) and shop from there?
Thanks

There are 5 Motorolla surfboards. One a combo, the others modems.
Thanks for the advice!

Yes, the Motorolla Surfboards are the best to get because the newest ones are supposed to be docsis 3 compatible - which basically supports higher internet speeds. That's a whole 'nother conversation though. If you have the money, it's probably best to buy the moden so that you're not having to pay for the rent on theirs. I've probably already spent enough on the rent that I could have purchased my own modem twice now.

In regards to the router, the new Linksys routers are nowhere near the quality they used to be. I would probably look at ASUS routers.
