14-16" screen and lightwight don't go together, especially at your price point, unless lightweight means under 6 pounds or so.
You might google "laptop reviews" for links to good sites like CNET, PC Mag and Laptop Mag. They do comprehensive comparisons of many things like real world battery life.
Here you're really running a poll of what other posters have and like, with no comparisons.
^ not a bad choice if the weight is OK. Note that the display is not a high resolution display, just a garden variety HD display, but that's what you'd expect in this price range. The processor is decent. Enough memory and a decent sized SSD, especially for one using the cloud for storage.
It's a sale item and price has ALREADY GONE UP $50 FROM WHEN I POSTED IT.
(This usually indicates people are buying them).
This is a good deal.
I've often wondered if the app raises the price if people are actually buying them?
Or even just when people are showing interest in the products?
For example, on Amazon, when I'm researching products, prices, reviews .... then save the products on my wish list, at a certain price, for later review and comparison with other products. Then, a day later, when I get back to my wish list for a closer review, the price seemed to have been bumped up?! Since it went beyond my price point, I didn't buy it.
A couple of days later, it was back to price I wanted it. Actually, a couple of bucks lower than my original price point. I felt like a fish and Amazon is the fisherman, enticing me to take the bait by moving it around?
Now that I think about it, with all the investments going on in AI, human psychology and your shopping patterns and buying habits, it would only be logical that their software be intelligent enough to entice people into buying, one way or another (i.e. price, color scheme, ads, etc.... ). Smell? It's only a matter of time when we have computers that can utilize the five human senses.
A little OT, but a good thing to watch for with Amazon.
We have a 35(?) mile flat antenna for the office TV that is a bit iffy on some of the channels. Got an email from Amazon that had a 50 mile antenna on sale. Some place called Prime Now was the seller. The link did take me to Amazon, but the checkout page was completely different.
The only delivery options were two hour windows for $4.99 that was automatically added to the price and they asked for a $5.00 tip! So the product was now $10.00 more than advertised. Go find some other sucker. I searched Amazon for Prime only products and found the same one for the same price through Amazon with no extra ripoff required. It's coming day after tomorrow.
You really have to pay attention.
