We have a 8-10 year old DVD player. In the last year we started getting DVDs from Netflix. In about half of them, part or all of the movie turns mostly pink and green. Do you have any idea if it's the DVDs or the player?

why not just put the DVD in your computer and try playing it there...if it plays ok...it's your DVD player

Likely the player. There are some old movies that were never properly stored by the studios and have had the dyes fade. Those movies are almost always pink in color. I'm not aware of green tinted movies, and I've seen more movies than most people.
