When I visit my brothers in Reno we golf at a small (9 holes, 200+/- yards), inexpensive ($15) course that is perfect for us hacks. Are any of the courses around Crossville similar to that or are they all championship type courses?

Cumberland Cove Golf Website is being rebuilt but their phone # is there. They also have a Facebook page. They had a fall special on there for 9 holes for $12

I would agree with Sparkman...Cumberland Cove on the western edge of Cumberland County. More of a boulder farm than goat farm. Fun though.

Cumberland Cove would definitely be the cheapest and for good reason. There also used to be a course/driving range on Peavine Rd. before you get all the way into FFG. I'm not sure of the name, or if it is still in operation. Google suggests, no.

If you don't mind the drive, Belle Acres, located a few hundred yards east of the Putnam County Courthouse in downtown Cookeville, is a cute little 9-hole course, one of the oldest in the state, opened in 1930. It costs just $10 to do 9 holes (walking) or $14 (with cart).

Fun little course, but mind yoir slice as each hole has some issue to the right.

Good driving range as well.

That's been gone over 5 years, it was a lighted par 3 course. Played it a few times. It had a little coffee shop there that had a great reasonably priced breakfast.

Thanks for the replies all. We will try those suggested. Can I also have your opinions of Bear Trace at Cumberland Mountain State Park? I live a stone's throw from it.

Been awhile, but I always loved playing Bear Trace. There and the courses at FFG are they only ones I regularly played. I liked all of those courses a lot, except for.Druid Hills. Really disliked Deer Creek, but I read that it is permanently closed.
