We are heading to Cookeville for next weekend to look at some farms and land. We are looking outside of Cookeville but trying to get as close as we can afford. Is there a good BBQ restaurant that people recommend? Anything to do? It will be my fiancée, sister and brother in law. We are leaving the kids at home! lol Thank you

Others may have different suggestions, but I'll recommend The Blue Pig and Bobby Q's. They're both downtown. The Blue Pig is in the historic WestSide within a block of several places where you can walk to for dessert afterwards: Pops & Gumdrops, Cream City, P-Dilly's, and Ralph's Donuts. All those places are within just a few feet of the historic train depot museum. Bobby Q's is just a half block off the courthouse square on the other side of downtown and has a larger menu. Both Bobby Q's and The Blue Pig would give you a nice way to visit downtown.
