Hello again everyone. Was wondering how the roads are around the cookeville area. Are they all winding with cliffs along the edge or pretty safe? Also...how about drunk drivers..are they bad in general or just bad on weekends?

Roads..... If you Mapquest Cookeville and fly down to the lower level on the tool bar about 3-4. then hit aerial view you can see the terrain. Google Earth a free download on high speed net will allow you to see elevation above sea level. The images are great then not so great depending where your looking....... Safe Travels.

Yes. All the roads wind around up dand down hills with clifs on both sides and are full of drunk drivers in pick-up trucks. Drunk drivers are generally bad, but worse on the weekend.

Now now, 2mares, behave!
Tennessee may not have the best-funded schools in the country, but our roads are generally top notch. The roads around Cookeville are no exception, they're generally very good and very safe.
However, as in any rural, hilly area there are a few roads that can be a little perilous if you're not paying attention.
But I honestly can't remember the last time a car drove off a cliff or into a river around there. It just never happens.

Not that many hills
You'd have to go a ways out of town to get any substantially elevated roads. A few places around Algood and Monterrey come to mind. Drunk drivers are about like they are anywhere else in the state, I think.

Just one of those questions that makes me shake my head.
Your right about the roads being top notch. I joke that TDOTS goal is that no road will be left unpaved. Around Cookeville/Monterey the bigger concern is dodging road kill and not adding to the road kill.

Good roads. Compared to Florida roads, GREAT roads. I can't tolerate scary roads very well and I'm good to go just about anywhere around here. They are always working on them, too. It's actually pretty impressive.

that is a really cool way to see things. i did not know that. we just spent a long time checking out lots of stuff, including cookeville and our current town.

What kind of car does he have? When my youngest started driving, we got him an old piece of crap honda that didnt go over 50mph. HaHa. Id worry more about the traffic than the curves. But seriously, he does need to realize you cant take those curves ant 60 mph. Ive seen many cars fliped due to that.
