Cumberland Cove is where we rented that gorgeous cabin last month - very reasonable - it was actually like a lodge to me. We fell in love with that area. GREAT TRAILS and VIEWS EVERYWHERE!

I posted our photos when we arrived back home here in FL ( OUR TN TRIP - AUGUST 2007 (http://www.gpweb.net/tn - broken link) ) and below is a link re: the rental and land up there. I am not a realtor so I do not know anything about that area or sales, etc...but you could go to this site and ask for RENEE - she is the gal who owns the cabin we rented. She can help you out with more info as well, if you need.
Renting her cabin is a great way to "SEE" the area before you buy....but be warned you WILL LOVE IT!

Also Cookeville is a great town for restr. and shopping, and I "hear" it is superb for schools and medical. Plus it is a college town - that is nice. Easy drive from Cumberland Cove, we thought. (IMO)
Also drove to Crossville - did not get to see too much of that, we were on our way out heading back to FL but what we saw looked good - very good!

Just found this forum.

We've been Cove residents for 20 years, and was fire protection for 18. Scary!

Hi biomedbob,

My wife and I bought a 4 acre lot in Cumberland Cove (Sawmill Road) this past August. We plan to build on the lot after we retire, in 7 to 8 years. Could you explain what you meant by the word, "Scary."

One thing I have discovered about Tennessee in the Fall, if you go through the entire season without seeing deer, you aren't getting out enough. A friend in Colorado told me they come down to lower elevations in the Fall. Would this be true here as well? Does this mean you see less deer in the Spring?

Still looking for coyote.
