A little more expensive about $1200 each for a mini suite for a 6-7 day eastern Caribbean
I’m sure it will filter out some clientele I’d rather not see

I’ve done Royal, Norwegian, and Princess.
Royal was really nice, especially on a smaller ship. Princess was more upscale. You’d never know Carnival and Princess are owned by the same company. I loved it and booked my next one. I’m not much of a drinker and didn’t see a lot of drunk people stumbling all over.
With your age and having a little one, Royal may be a good fit. Princess did have mostly senior citizens onboard (I was just fine with this).
Royal has some children’s programs too. Choose a smaller Royal ship though. Very personal and a great experience.
