Yep Scouts should go afield with explosives and heavy equipment these days. All kinds of "public service" to be done in our parks. How dare nature form such dangerous things!
Mount Rushmore should be destroyed. A President's nose could fall off and hurt a kid.

And just what else could people argue, "It was only..." to excuse bad and unnecessary, not to mention destructive behavior? The first thing they should have done was kept the scouts from climbing on the rock formations. Dangerous issue solved!

What do either of those feeble attempts to introduce racism into the thread have to do with the issue at hand? I don't recall the article mentioning ethnicity at all. Even if it did, the actions of the scouts and their so-called leaders were ill-advised and destructive.

If this is allowed to go unpunished there will be a rash of such activities popping up all over YT depicting such. Our society has allowed all deterrents for crimes to be decimated; why? How about the kids who were laughing it up on camera? What kind of lesson will they learn from this if the fat slob bozos are let off the hook? They know of no deterrents to do the same.

I wonder how many kid's parents are going to let their kids go off with the two fat a$$es in the future? Hopefully, none. A year on a road gang would be fitting for their 15 mins of fame.

They should come to DC and try to topple the Washington Monument as that will surely fall over and kill people some day in the distant future. Why wait and take chances? Send those two slobs out here now and have them push on it 8 hours a day for a year while tourists record it. They could be saving their lives.

They need to pay a fine and do some public service, preferably speaking about leaving natural environments alone.

Every highway that's built disturbs ground that's millions of years old.

I don't see an issue.
