She admitted to watching pornography (online) as a 12-year old
Says a lot about American women these days
Yeah, that says NOTHING about American women, as a 12-year-old isn't a woman. Far from it. At 12 she isn't supposed to have to make these kinds of choices on her own.
She will *never* get a job with a major corporate law firm (the kind of places that pay the large salaries that justifies legal tuition). No firm will touch her once they find out about the porn, and they will when doing due diligence. Her only realistic option as a lawyer is public interest but even within the sector her background will hurt her chances of finding a decent employer, even if she had a Harvard JD.

I couldn't agree more. The idea that a Duke degree will mitigate being public about her porn career is silly. I hope that she isn't counting on that. What an unbelievable lapse in judgement if that's the case.
Coming out publicly about her porn activities and even doing interviews about it has hurt her very badly for the long run. Any employer will, at a minimum, do a simple internet search for her and will find out about it and that will nix her chances, whether it's a law job or a conventional corporate job or even a special interest job with a nonprofit. If she ever wanted to teach, forget it, and I'd venture to say that government jobs will also be closed to her.
She should have accepted the realities about the loans she *chose* to take out by going to Duke (instead of the sensible option of going to a much cheaper in-state school in her home state), and whored herself to a big law firm for a couple years to pay off her debt. At least her reputation would be intact.
Her porn activities has closed so many doors that would otherwise have opened for a bright young woman with a Duke diploma. She has a huge obstacle to overcome, which she sadly will realize after she graduates.

supposed to? her hormones say otherwise. first time i saw porn was a hustler magazine my friend bought to his home and called me over to see. i was also 12 or 13. if i had internet back then, i would have long seen porn. you don't have to behave a certain way. your estrogen or testosterone will remind you of your purpose on earth. to reproduce and do it frequently so we don't perish as a species. this kind of thinking reminds me of idiot parents who think their kids are angels. uh, no. YOUR kids, yeah YOU, your "angel" kids do watch porn, kiss and make out in all parts of the school and outdoors, and have wild sex. wake up.
Porn is a multi billion dollar industry like any other. It's probably more legit than scamming people as an investment banker. If I were a young attractive female I would take advantage of that in every way possible.

Again, she was outed by a fellow student, she only came out herself after she was outed. Second, she is majoring in Women's Studies, so I highly doubt she is looking to work for a corporate law firm. As a feminist lawyer representing women though, I think the attacks she is undergoing now will enhance her ability and credibility to represent women punished for being sexual in this hypocritical double-standard country.
People here seem to be actually delighting in the thought of her being punished for this one day, and to feel she will deserve it as her comeuppance. . Why is that?
What I find most ironic, is some of the men feeling she deserves to suffer for this are the same men complaining on the Relationship board that it's feminism's fault they can't get laid, yet here is a feminist sex worker and she is being vilified.

She'd probably get a corporate law gig for a porn company in a heartbeat. They wouldn't care.
