Just an interesting story in the wake of Ferguson and the like.

Latest Video from 7 On Your Side - WSPA.com

Above is the video.. Below is the link to the story.

Trooper Charged In Shooting Of Unarmed Man, Dashcam Video Releas - WSPA.com

From the video.. There's no way that was a justified shooting. First, while the 'suspect' did turn rather quickly, he did in no way "dive" into the car. Second, the cop discharged his weapon based only on him going into the car (which he told him to do) in a public place.. Cop misses the shot, someone in the store could very well have been hit.. Which may be why the suspect was shot in the hip.. Perhaps the cop was trying to avoid that.. But.. Viewing the video, doesn't even look like the weapon should have been drawn. Hand on it? Ok, I can buy that.. Moving into position while ordering him to stop and back away from the vehicle? Ok, I can see that.

Trooper is getting a felony assault charge.. Which is about right.. Attempted murder is too far.

This has been shown on news programs all day. Truly outrageous behavior by the now ex-cop. Does not appear provoked or justified in any way shape or form. In fact, it appears that an innocent citizen is being terrorized.

It is really too bad that guys like this give cops a bad name. If other cops spoke out, it would help (ya know the way people want black leaders and muslims to speak out about outrageous behavior by members of the group).

Police Shoot Unarmed Man When Asked To Get His ID Cop Arrested! - YouTube

"Can I see your license?"

If you reach for it, they will shoot you. If you don't, they will shoot you anyway. You are screwed either way.

Every time I survive an encounter with a cop, I thank god that the thug didn't shoot me, or try and frame me for something.

Hey, he was driving in a parking lot without his seatbelt on. The cops have got to be careful of dangerious people like that.

South Carolina's Finest. To those who put things like this off as an isolated incident (like a million cops didn't shoot somebody today) notice that this former LEO was once named trooper of the year.....Cream of the crop......and this yahoo was shooting at someone standing in front of gas pumps. I'd hate to see the guys at the bottom of the barrel. You never know what's going to pop that hair trigger most cops seem to be operating under.

Wonder if he got drug tested after the incident? I doubt we'll ever know.

Here's the moral of this one.. The system is working, at least in this case.. the cop is being charged, as he should.
