What would you suggest ?
The McD's franchisees do very well but take a look at Subways. They are usually owned by an immigrant family. It's one of the cheapest franchises to get into. However, they don't make a lot. The usual store makes $40,000 to $50,000 a year. Most of the immigrants that work there also have their families working with them. They save, then buy another Subway. Many, through HARD WORK, may own a small chain of 5 or 6.

Imagine if you bought a Subway franchisee and had to hire some pimply face loser of a teenager for $15 an hour. You would be making $10,000 more than him.

Yep, great country America...keep rewarding the unmotivated losers.

Anecdotal story:
That Woman and I checked into a motel in North Carolina for a long scheduled trade show. It was snowing - hard.
The immigrant motel owner greeted us warmly, and expressed concern that we were out in the weather.
Then, when we got settled, this same immigrant motel owner calls the room and tells us that he had called around and the only restaurant open was the Chinese restaurant. He offered to make a run for us if we liked. We did like, and he was back in 30 minutes.
So the only people working that night was The Indian Guy, The Chinese Family, and the commission sales rep team. But that's why That Woman and I became salesmen.

Yeah, because the tens of thousands of miles of pipelines we currently have are busting all the time.

I just love it when people "demand" things of others.
