I believe this thread confirms your point. If someone says the n word 30 years ago, the country goes into a panic, demands vengence and blood in the streets. Our country cries and the president speaks out.
Someone makes fun of fat white women...95% of the country joins in and millions of new fat jokes are created. You could call it collective fat joke brain storming. Someone could even propose fat joke Friday as a national holiday.

Because he is allowed to say hateful things on TV about certain groups without punishment.
Why should one group be protected from hateful remarks more than another group?
Why can Shaq make fun of a handicapped person? Why can Barkley make fun of overweight people?
It seems like everyone is fair game except for gays/blacks.
So do you think people are OK if they admire Donald Sterling? Heck, lets face it, a lot of landlords hate renting to black people and a lot of parents would hate for the child to date a black person.

I'm pointing out that what Barkley said is no better than that thought process. Discrimination or insensitive remarks aren't only made against black people.
