As to the level of entitlement, narcissism and misogyny seen among young males today: I see it all the time. I'm in my late 40s but help out occasionally at a bar owned by friends where young twenty-something's and hipsters congregate. The amount of foul talk and disrespect I hear from many of these young men towards women is disturbing. I've caught myself admonishing, correcting and even counseling them (one kid is currently facing a rape charge after picking up a drunk girl one night; he blames her).

It's not just because I'm old; I truly believe the internet and the proliferation of computer porn has desensitized an entire generation of young men toward women and sex. It's very sad.
Yes, you have a point --- but I don't think he was Aspergers - if anything Aspergers are happier in their isolation, more content to be with their inventions or whatever obsesses them -- they're less obsessed with people than anyone.

I think this one wasn't so much asocial in the way the Aspergers types are -- he very much was obsessed with people and fitting in. He wanted to be like everyone else, the true loner doesn't.

And you're right -- he had a very desensitized attitude about women -- he was obsessed with getting sex from them. I'm sure he came across as a real creepy type and they steered clear of him.

And psychopaths often kill over sex -- Son of Sam would kill couples he found on lovers' lanes. Psychopaths kill in order to control their victims -- asperger types aren't known to want to control anyone. This guy has more the mind of a serial killer -- total contempt for his victims, like a Ted Bundy or John Gacy only he did it all at once.

Psychopaths? — What Makes Serial Killers Tick? - The Crime Library — Crime Library

"I'm the most cold-blooded sonofabitch you'll ever meet," said Ted Bundy. "I just liked to kill, I wanted to kill." The hallmark of the psychopath is the inability to recognize others as worthy of compassion. Victims are dehumanized, flattened into worthless objects in the murderer's mind. John Gacy, never showing an ounce of remorse, called his victims "worthless little queers and punks," while the "Yorkshire Ripper" Peter Sutcliffe brashly declared that he was "cleaning up the streets" of the human trash.

His manifesto said women were the plague and that he would put them all in concentration camps and starve them to death. He would keep a few alive just to repopulate the planet but only artificially.

Wow, maybe he was gay.

That's what a lot of people were saying on some of his YouTube video comments.

Go read some internet forums with young AS males on them and you will think otherwise - many are very unhappy, bitter, frustrated, etc, about their inability to form relationships (and thus get sex) with the opposite sex.

While of course this is not going to be true of 100% of the males with AS, the thing about AS is that many people with it are painfully aware of their social deficits and the isolation these cause, and many become very depressed due to this.

You are making a lot of claims with no backup whatsoever. It's on you to provide it.

If you read the major symptoms of NPD in the DSM IV or V, he demonstrated most of them in that 7-minute video. I don't think it's Aspergers, guys.

I think it can be a very questionable diagnosis. It's become a "chic" diagnosis -- high functioning autistic -- like Adam Lanza who couldn't make it in school or get a job. Or they're the computer geek types who do just fine and prefer writing programs to dancing in a nightclub and are more asocial than anything else, or they're the lonely kids desperately wanting to be popular and part of a big social group.

If you're are really a-social then you don't crave attention and you don't prefer death over being part of the crowd -- a true loner doesn't want to be part of a crowd but prefers his own company.

This guy was all about controlling others -- he saw himself as an alpha male, the women should have seen as that and offered themselves sexually to him. I can't think of any autistic types really being that way.

I know someone who fits the AS spectrum very well -- he gets invited to parties and out to nightclubs but he is known to get stressed by the noise and will go out and sit in the car to wait for the others to get tired and leave.

He isn't painfully aware of his social deficits -- in his mind, he's the normal one, he doesn't really care what the others are. He commented that he thought he had social anxiety -- and everyone told him "are you just now figuring that out?" but he came to that conclusion because he realized he didn't want to be the life of the party and mostly didn't want to go to parties. Parties and loud social gatherings are what depresses him -- or stresses him, he is fine with very small groups of friends -- like one or two max and then for limited time -- he has projects he prefers to work on.
