What a bunch of morons. Anyone familiar with lumber knows 2x4 is the raw size before they plane down the rough edges.
It's been called that for years. This is not false advertising.
Let's rename teeth brush from tooth brush. Am I limited to only brushing 1 tooth ?
How about we don't say a home has a 10ft ceiling when it's actually 9ft 11 3/4 inches.
Stick with being a salesmen, or whatever, because you have no clue. A standard stud for an 8' ceiling is 92 1/4" which with a sole plate and double top plate yields an effective 96 3/4" prior to drywall. With 1/2" drywall it is 96 1/4". When 54" drywall is used it is 108 1/4".
Please leave the building trades to what they do, and keep sales bs to the theives.

What got your dander up? The point is common names are not always exact (as in a 10ft ceiling)

That I understand construction and you bs your way through? 8' or 9' plus 1/4" is a standard that you've tried to twist to meet a political agenda and you're wrong is all I'm pointing out. Do you have issue with being wrong?
It's a big deal. Every year, millions of Americans are bilked out of billions of dollars through false and misleading advertising and the failure to enforce consumer protection laws. We should be glad that someone is finally doing something about it.
Anyone who doesn't know a 2x4 isn't actually 2 inches by 4 inches needs to step away from the hammer and go browse the arts and crafts stores.
You should know that not all judges are lawyers. (You would be surprised to learn the number of Supreme Court Justices that never went to law school!) Even so, I would suggest that you modify your view of lawyers; they play a valuable role in our society. Who knows, you might find yourself in need of one.
Some do, some don't.
Unfortunately you always hear from the ones that don't and rarely from the ones that do. That in and of itself should tell y'all something.
I've known several lawyers over the last 30 years and to a one they tell me THEY can't stand most others.
Too bad we cant sue politicians for lying in their political advertising!!
