My stepson got free stuff the other day there for giving a high-five.
If they offer me free stuff I might have fun with them by saying my mom is being held by ISIS or was killed and I'm hunting her killer named Voldemort.
The questions are varied. Not all of them involve calling a parent. What I got from it is the intent is to spread kindness and appreciation to our fellow human beings. In that light, it doesn't surprise me in the least that absolutely everyone on this forum hates it.
Does anyone else have a problem with this? Some things shouldn't be sold. Public displays of affection shouldn't be in an environment filled with children. Anything more than hand holding
is treading on shaky ground in public anywhere.
One commercial I just saw, had a guy who had to call his mother. They did not have the conversation so I will make one up for example to witness how goofy this sales pitch is-
"Hi Mom. How are you? I am calling because I get a free Big Mac for calling my mother."
What???? You haven't called me in 3 years and now you are finally calling me for the price of a burger????? Hope you choke on a pickle and no you can't borrow any money."[dial tone]
My first thought when I read this:
No thanks- if I go to McDonald's, which I don't plan to, I'll pay for my food with cash.
McDonald's is so thoroughly hated and vilified by the Absolutely Politically Correct, and that collection of losers out there in Deep Left Field, that anything it does will be criticized by somebody.
Totally agree. Hopefully someday they will wake up and thoroughly love everything like the the losers in Deep Right Field. Those guys don't have a bad word for anyone.
My problem with McDonalds Is the targeting of children to eat their crap. (can I say that?)
Parents know fast greasy food is bad, but somehow the "happy meal" was promoted as wholesome. It comes with a toy, with games on the box. To a kid this is gold! How can something
so desired by kids be bad? They wouldn't target kids with happy meals if they were bad, right.
UH WROOOOOONNGGGGGGGGG! SO ALL THESE YEARS (since 1976) MickyD has been making 'happy meals" by the millions" and they don't think they deserve a bad image. Well maybe they do think they deserve it. Either way they got it! Today, I think they started putting an apple or giving the choice of fruit or fries. What self respecting kid is going to order apple slices over fries?
TOO little and TOO late. This is why they are desperately grasping at straws now. My answer to this hugs and kisses campaign is "
Kiss Off McDonalds"!
