Woman ‘viciously’ mauled by dogs in Plainfield | FOX CT

Woman is fighting for her life and in critical condition.

Why does do people need 5 rottweilers (number 2 on the list for human fatalities) and a labrador? When are people going to realize that large powerful dogs like rotties are unpredictable and potentially dangerous? OF COURSE the dog owners said they were "well trained". What a joke. This woman is trying to help someone out and she gets viciously mauled and might die and is fighting for her life. Disgusting. If she survivies, I can't even imagine the type of injuries/scarring/permanent damage that she sustained. Probably like the chimp attack also in CT that left the woman without a face. DOGS ARE DOMESTICATED WOLVES. THEY ARE UNPREDICTABLE PREDATORS. And certain breeds are larger and more dangerous/aggressive than others on average. When will people learn this? Took a walk in the park a few days ago and all kinds of people without leashes on their animals including a 100 pound rottweiler that has man killing power. Person was chasing after the dog and dog wasn't even listening. All with children playing in the playground.

Yup, I agree OP.

And curiously enough, just as I learned of this story, the thread about Pit Bulls in "Great Debates" was closed.....

Why did FOX CT put "viciously" in quotation marks?

This comes on the heels of the store Santa who was fired for not posing for pictures with a little girl and her pitbull. The Santa was terrified of pitbulls. But the girl's pitt was a service dog, so apparently we're all supposed to bow down, fear or no fear. Who the heck is turning dangerous pitbulls into service dogs? Someone who is sick in the head, no doubt?

The article said they were show dogs. Why do we have dog shows? Why do we have beauty pageants?

When are people going to realize that most animals are potentially dangerous and unpredictable?
what happened is tragic. Accidents and tragedies happen every day. I don't know why some people read a story or two about a dog attack and immediately begin condemning dogs or a particular breed and questioning their very existence. Where does it end?

Bees. Bees kill more people per year than any other animal. Depending on what stats you read, horses are No. 2 killers or equivalent to dogs which account for a very small percent of unnatural deaths.

Males commit more murders than females and blacks commit more murders than whites, statistically. We can find demons where ever we chose to seek them out.

Well we have "service pigs" that HAVE to be on an airplane...so go figure. At least a pig is harmless. Maybe we'll have "service tigers" next. How long till the victim in the case gets blamed for her own attack

.
Bees kill more people than pedophile child killers. Does that mean we should just ignore the pedophile child killers or do nothing to prevent them from killing. Also, bee kills are allergic reactions. Dog fatalities are rare, dog bites/attacks are COMMON.

Statistics like that are meaningless.

Killer is the key word here. My 100lb dog is easily upset but far less likely to bite someone than my cute little 15lber.

Im so sick of reading almost-weekly reports of deaths/maulings at the hands of vicious breeds. More bans need to be imposed. The whole "punish the deed, not the breed" saying we've all heard so much is bogus. People are dying. They treat it like a joke and some kind of "accident". Im sorry, but these "accidents" happen all too often. People are having to bury their children, I cant imagine the pain and suffering they are going through, it breaks my heart.
