Because these days their age gap has considerably shrunk. They're essentially age group peers at this point. The emotional level of maturity of your run of the mill female education major college graduate is not that far off from that of the high school setting she left a mere 4 years before. 20-some year olds have never really done well in abiding by workplace fraternization rules. I'm frankly shocked people are surprised by the existence of these dynamics....
