Where I live people call 911 over a barking dog in the daytime, disapproval of their adult son's girlfriend, a bag of garbage by the road, facebook posts by enemies. I realize small town life can be boring, but really........
These are the same calls that lead to the killing of John Crawford shot dead while on the phone holding a BB gun he was going to purchase, 12 year old Tamir Rice for having a BB gun at a park and most recently the stopping of four NY Parole Officers in vests and shields.
Tamir Rice was pointing a gun modified to look like a real gun at people. There was definitely a real reason to call the police on him.
"Ya know, I'm just going to complain and get some stuff off my chest.
So I'm working last week and get dispatched to a call of 'Suspicious Activity.' Ya'll wanna know what the suspicious activity was? Someone walking around in the dark with a flashlight and crow bar? Nope. Someone walking into a bank with a full face mask on? Nope.
It was two black males who were jump starting a car at 930 in the morning. That was it. Nothing else. Someone called it in.
People. People. People. If you're going to be a racist, stereotypical jerk...keep it to yourself. Don't call the police and make them get involved into your douchebaggery.
The irony of these cop shows is that the cops never do what they do in real life on those shows. Its like, in real life, cops just ambush people, but on the shows, they're thoughtful, strategic, conscientious. There is some disconnect between the imaginary scenarios at police academy, and how it really goes down, which seems to be, more often than not, a brute display of force. Its like a shock and awe campaign on American citizens.

It would be funny if it wasn't so true. Don't know what to say sometimes.
