Honestly every aspect of this story, minus the bikers actions, make me proud to be an American. The bikers are no different than members of Isis. The protestors and the officers show why this is such an amazing country. I love you America.

“I served in the Marines,” said counterprotester Brian Christopher, 23. “We defend this flag. We are ready to die for it. When I see people burning it and showing complete ignorance, it’s very offensive.”

Well, when they put it like that, you can see why the reaction.

Thing about the United States, there's supposed to be freedom of (harmless) expression.

Glad the cops realized that, even if the bikers didn't.

Maybe the protesters will realize who had just protected them, and it'll all be a weird win-win situation.

That said, burning the flag and disrespecting the country entirely lends no focus to the core issue they're supposedly protesting, and alienates those who would otherwise agree with them regarding issues with police officers.

They would if they could but they can't so they can't. The only thing that separates some segments of the U.S. populace from emulating ISIS is the rule of law. Take some time out from this forum and read the accounts of lynchings in the U.S. and tell me who is the barbarian, ISIS or red blooded Americans freed from the strictures imposed by law enforcement.
Arriving here at 12 o’clock the train was met by a surging mass of humanity 10,000 strong. The negro was placed upon a carnival float in mockery of a king upon his throne, and, followed by an immense crowd, was escorted through the city so that all might see the most inhuman monster known in current history. The line of march was up Main street to the square, around the square down Clarksville street to Church street, thence to the open prairies about 300 yards from the Texas & Pacific depot. Here Smith was placed upon a scaffold, six feet square and ten feet high, securely bound, within the view of all beholders. Here the victim was tortured for fifty minutes by red-hot iron brands thrust against his quivering body. Commencing at the feet the brands were placed against him inch by inch until they were thrust against the face. Then, being apparently dead, kerosene was poured upon him, cottonseed hulls placed beneath him and set on fire. In less time than it takes to relate it, the tortured man was wafted beyond the grave to another fire, hotter and more terrible than the one just experienced.

Both victims were tied to a tree and forced to hold out their hands while members of the mob methodically chopped off their fingers and distributed them as souvenirs. Next, their ears were cut off. Mr. Holbert was then beaten so severely that his skull was fractured and one of his eyes was left hanging from its socket. Members of the mob used a large corkscrew to bore holes into the victims’ bodies and pull out large chunks of “quivering flesh,” after which both victims were thrown onto a raging fire and burned. The white men, women, and children present watched the horrific murders while enjoying deviled eggs, lemonade, and whiskey in a picnic-like atmosphere.

1. I didn't specify how the bikers were violent. They did use violence when confronting people who disagree with them.

2. This was a demonstration about police tactics. I'm not sure why you have homosexuality on the brain.

3. Just like angry violent whites in the past they would have gladly killed, dragged, or hung some of the protesters. We do not live in a society that condone that. Our government maintains suffice control that we do not have to fear roving militias.
