Why all the fuss about changing race?

Rachel Dolezah claimed to be black although born a white. Liberals threw her under the bus. Why?

People change their gender and get accolades and are called heros.

People say they are homosexual and gain protections (right or wrong doesn't really matter)

People change religions, not a word.


How is changing your race any different than changing your gender from the perspective that in both cases you are born as one but change to another by choice? Changing your gender even involved surgery yet changing your race is somehow less acceptable?

If any of the above are perceived to:

Garner votes for a politician
Increase the sale of newspapers/magazines for a company
Increase ratings for news programs on TV

Then they too will create a "fuss".

Because you can't change race. Even if you dye your skin you are still white.

Sex change still isn't accepted by all. Bruce Jenner will always be a man for many.

Cause the whole Rachel thing isn't just about someone born White wanting claiming to be Black.

Because claiming to change and actually changing are different.

You can claim to change your race; but in reality, your race never changes.

You can claim to change your gender, but in reality, your gender never changes.

You are what you are. Pretending to be something you're not, to such an extreme degree, is usually a sign of mental illness and these people should be helped in that regard; not enabled.

If she had lived her life honestly, admitting that she is a white woman who chooses to embrace aspects of the black culture, there wouldn't have been an ounce of the backlash that she experienced. It was the deceit that bothered people.

Most transsexuals don't try to claim that they were born as their chosen gender. They're pretty honest that they were born one way and chose to be another.
