13-Year-Old Girl Killed Retrieving Lost Item From Subway Tracks | NBC New York
Quote:
A teenage girl was killed in Queens Sunday afternoon after trying to retrieve a lost item from the subway tracks and being hit by a train.

The girl, identified as 13-year-old Diana Kadribasic of Queens, was killed by an R train when she was on the tracks trying to get her cellphone, police said.

"I was in the front train and we hear this bump," subway rider Stephen Topete said. "You hear everyone jumping and screaming."

A Georgia teen fatally shot himself while livestreaming on social media this week in what his mother is calling a terrible accident.

Malachi Hemphill, 13, was discovered by his mother and sister in a pool of his own blood Monday after they heard a loud boom in his Atlanta bedroom.

What are the odds that the family are going to file a lawsuit and make a million bucks out of this situation.

IMO shouldn't include any young kids in this on many levels. They're not old enough to know better in many cases.

Now if it's a 40 year old guy throwing sticks of dynamite at the groundhog under his porch then fine...but leave the kids out of this please.

I'm sure we can find lots of stories of toddlers choking on whatever and dying....it's not part of the concept.

During 1971 or 1972 someone was cleaning the floor of the service bays at a Mobil station in Eastchester with gasoline. He stepped on a nail. The wheel alignment machine wound up across Route 22 ina Grand Union parking lot. No word on what happened to the various parts of the attendant.

What about this one; no one died, but in May 1974 I was at one of our area's pioneer self-service gas stations. The two people manning the kiosk were out on the tarmac, hosing each other down with gasoline.

There used to be a show on cable called "1,000 Ways to Die." Lots of Darwin winners there. I could not even imagine some of the ways these people ended up dying.
