As a small child growing up I was a member of a farm family. We were taught something very basic at a very young age. Never take anything for granted around an animal wild or otherwise. That even applied to dogs & cats. I forgot that rule once, and got knocked down & stepped on by a horse. Luckily no damage was done, but I learned respect for an animals space.
