Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department made a terminally ill mother's dream come true on Saturday by organizing a quinceañera celebration for her daughter's 15th birthday.

In July, Sergeant Janet Kim of LAPD's Central Area Gang Division and several officers were holding a movie night in a housing project when they met Beatriz Delgado and her 14-year-old daughter, Jazmine Delgado.

Kim asked a community volunteer about the family and learned that Beatriz had terminal brain cancer and Jazmine had cerebral palsy.

What a heartwarming story. There are cops like this all over the country, involved in the community and wanting to help when they can. Unfortunately, we need to get rid of the bad cops stealing all the headlines.

The one officer missed his calling. He's got a great voice.
