After plunging 1,000 this morning, the Dow Jones struggles to recover. For the last several days the Dow and S&P have ended on downswing.

... something like 4500 points movement on the Dow today. That's probably never happened before in the history of the stock market.

You know, an earthquake is measured by magnitude... the osculation from extreme to another on the scale.

Today a 9.5 "earthquake" hit Wall Street.

Sooner or later.

In 1987, the market lost 20% of value in one day. Many then claimed it would never recover. They were mistaken.

The stock market came back after the '29 crash, the Great Depression and WWII, the most costly and destructive war in human history.

Guess that means is wasn't anything to fret about!

For those who were about to retire, absolutely. How bad the tremors are is partially determined by how much longer you're going to be riding the markets.

What did oil finish at today? It was down to $35 a barrel at one point when I saw it.
