Why do black people want white people (or anyone for that matter) to touch their hair?
I have no clue, ask the fairer sex. Men don't care about hair unless they can get more of it on their head and less of it on the carpet of their spouse/girlfriend/significant other. Besides those two cases no man cares about hair.

It's a female thing.
Then women in general want other people to touch their hair? I'm really curious. Talking strangers here, not someone known.

Did you look at my links? Black women do not want their hair touched. Many black women have a lot of people come up to them and ask to touch their hair and apparently to them its a big deal, multiple articles on it, multiple videos, instructions for white people on how not to ask to touch their hair, etc.

It's a little like when strangers try to touch a pregnant belly. It's a violation of pysical privacy, and she is not a novelty to be experienced.
